I
became the 1st runner-up in two successive contests this year. Last
year, I became the 1st winner. I have to admit that the winner of
contest this year has performed brilliantly. At the same time, I stuttered in my
speech a couple of time. I congratulated the winner.
I
felt a little bit disappointed after I lost. I think it is normal. However, I
have to look at the future because there are agendas that I must deal with. Besides, losing in a competition has taught me
several things. First, nobody always wins. There are times he/she has to lose. If
we always win, the world will no longer be an interesting place. Losing and
winning occasionally contributes to the development of a civilization. Second,
we must never stop learning. The world changes fast. New people with new ideas
and ability always come. If we stop learning, we cannot be a better person.
Third, we learn to manage our disappointment. I always have a warm conversation
with my opponent after he beats me. By doing that, I find peace and serenity in
my heart.
